Naruto couldn’t believe what he had learned… He prayed that it wasn’t what he was thinking, if he was some kind of descendant of a legendary hero, why hadn’t it ever been brought up before when he was a child? Was it because he would have bragged about it or was it something else? He couldn’t really say for sure though he knew one thing, his father had the item he needed for him to get to the top of Death Mountain. That was the only way for him to get through and he would make sure that he would get there…

Down side he still didn’t know where Luna was and that made things difficult for him. Sure, normally it would only be maybe a half hour ride but by foot? Forget it, that would take hours and that was something that he wasn’t going to look forward to that was for sure. At least he had company… “Hinata, have you heard of this ‘Legendary Hero’?” asked Naruto with confusion.

“A bit, not much is known about him but I think there were some legends about the hero in my home land…” She seemed like she was about to frown for a moment before adding “he was battling in the great war that happened before my people were placed in the Twilight Realm. We all fought together and something happened, some kind of conflict I believe… I don’t know the whole story though…” Hinata sounded like she was telling the truth though it seemed like it bothered her to talk about the hero now…

Frowning a bit, Naruto took a deep breath as he said “if there is more Hinata, I won’t force you to tell me what it is. You can tell me when you’re ready.” He chuckled a little before he stretched his arms above his head and kept on walking down the path. Naruto knew that this was going to bother him for a while though, he had to know more about his ancestor, maybe it would give him some kind of clue as to what was going on though at the moment he didn’t know what it could bring him though, he just felt like it was something that would make his skin crawl…

Taking a deep breath, Naruto folded his hands behind his head as he pouted. How is it that he was a descendant from the great hero? Well, that was also assuming that it was true. If that was the case though, did that mean that he had been chosen because of the hero’s blood flowing through his veins or was it more like he had just been born and came of age at the right moment in time? There was really no way of knowing since even his father could have been chosen for that matter, and yet he hadn’t been chosen but perhaps that was because the trouble hadn’t even begun at the time…

“Ugh, this is so confusing!” shouted Naruto as he threw his fists into the air. Suddenly, he punched a tree over as he shouted “if I am a relative of the great hero, why wasn’t I told?! Why wasn’t I told of any of this?! Was my father worried about something or was it something else?”

Hinata came out of Naruto’s shadow as she said “there is always a reason for something Naruto, there isn’t a reason for you to be mad Naruto. I’m sure your father had his reasons.” The young man sighed softly as he covered his face with his gloved hand and looked ahead as he wondered just how long he had been walking for. It was rather amazing that he hadn’t been aware of how far he had walked though that was mostly to blame for his distracted mind anyway.

“I guess that makes sense Hinata but, what could have caused my father to not tell me this in the first place?” Naruto asked, not really expecting an answer, at least not yet. He would wait to get the answer he wanted from his father when he saw him… It would bother him until he saw his father though for the time being he was stuck alone with his thoughts. Breathing deeply, the young man looked up at the sky as he saw the clouds rolling on by.

It was a nice day, that was for sure yet even from where he was he could hear the mountain rumbling and feel the slight vibrations. Though, not as strong as it was when he was in the village though he could still feel it… Or was that because of his heightened senses? There was really no way of knowing at the moment and he wasn’t going to complain about it since he did, after all have all of these amazing new senses that he still needed to learn how to control properly… Wait a minute, why didn’t he think about using his super strength?

”It wouldn’t have worked Naruto… you need a good steady ground to stand on to do that and with the combination of a Goron’s roll vibrations and the mountain vibrating from within you couldn’t get a good enough grip even if you wanted to.” said Hinata as if she had read his mind. How was it that she knew what he was thinking or was it just the expression on his face? Nah, she must have the power to read minds, there is no way that he could be that easy to read right? ”I can’t read minds Naruto, you’re eyes and face says it all.” said Hinata before she went back into the man’s shadow.

Inhaling softly, Naruto scratched the back of his head as he tried to get his thoughts on something else, though it seemed that his mind went to where his horse could have gone off to. It was something that he had been concerned about just like how he had been concerned about his mother and the kids when they had been kidnapped. Just where was Luna in the first place?

Suddenly, there was a weird sound that echoed through the field. Frowning, Naruto turned around and gasped in shock at what he was seeing. It was an army of those green creatures. Maybe he should call them Boblins or something. Naruto narrowed his eyes as he remembered these creatures. They were the ones that took his mother and the kids away from the village. How was it that he hadn’t seem them until now? Was the field part of their turf or was it something else? Shaking his head, the young man pulled out his sword as he said “I hope they enjoy life while they could enjoy it, because they’re gonna die!”

Narrowing his eyes, the young man rushed forward to kill the Boblins… he was going to make sure that he killed them for taking those he held dear from him and the people of his village. With every slash he did, the young man saw the green creatures fall over and disappear in smoke. What was with them? Were they even alive in the first place? Shaking his head the young man narrowed his eyes as he kept on slicing them in half before he felt one grab a hold of him. Yelping in shock and surprise, Naruto turned around before he found himself falling over.

“Son of a bitch!” shouted Naruto as he went to swing at them until one of them had slapped his sword away. Damn it, how was it that they could do that so easily!? Something was powering them and he had to figure out what it was.

Growling, Naruto narrowed his eyes as he went to use his super strength though it seemed that no matter what he did, they held him down with much greater strength that he could never hope to have in the first place. Lifting his head to stare at the creatures, he saw that they were talking to each other though it was written in some kind of strange language that he couldn’t understand in the first place. Though he had a feeling that it involved him in some way or another and it had him scared out of his mind.

”Naruto, they’re going to take you back to their camp to eat you!” shouted Hinata from within his shadow. Did she somehow understand what it was that they were saying in the first place!? ”I had to learn many languages when I was a young child…” Hinata added as if sensing what was going through the young man’s mind.

Growling, Naruto was planning on how to get himself to break free from their grasps though nothing came to mind. It seemed that even though he was a hero he didn’t have any other kind of abilities and that only pissed him off to no end at that. Letting out a loud scream, Naruto struggled, using all of his strength to break free of these creatures grasp, knowing that he had to fight back though what he didn’t know was that his anger was causing some sort of negative affect on him. Eyes glowing red he managed to shove them all off of him and narrowed his eyes as he smirked, though instead of his victories smirk, it was dark and sinister.

”Naruto?! What are you doing?!” shouted Hinata from her shadow as Naruto started to rush forward, ripping the beasts apart. It seemed that he didn’t bother grabbing his sword, in fact he preferred to rip them to shreds or in this case ripping them in half… as if he wanted to spill the blood on the beautiful field that was Hyrule Field, sure a weird name for a field though no one complained about it. Though because Naruto couldn’t get their blood to spill on the ground, with their body disappearing as soon as they died, including their blood, it would do little to nothing.

He screamed out in rage as he tried to get them to spill some kind of blood though that never seemed to work for any kind of reason. ”Naruto you have to stop this before you lose yourself forever!” shouted Hinata as she wrapped her shadow body around Naruto causing him to stop for a brief moment. Though as she looked at him, she saw that his body seemed to have been shadowed by some kind of dark magic that was infused with his rage… What was happening?!

“H… he… lp… m… me….” Came Naruto’s voice, it was as if he was trying to fight whatever it was that was trying to control him. Was this from him being in contact with the Fused Shadow’s? But how, he hadn’t even touched them so he shouldn’t have been affected by them in the first place. Or was it because he was close to the Fused Shadows because of his rage that he was feeling reaching the Fused Shadows and empowering it to the point of it controlling him? She would have to defuse that somehow and that was going to take a lot of her energy to do so…

Taking a deep breath, the imp closed her eyes as she started to focus all of her power, or at least all the power her small body possessed and started to chant a spell hoping that it would be enough to break Naruto of this rage that was within him. It was something that she knew could have happened to those around the world though it affected Naruto differently… Normally, all that could stop the power of the Infused Shadows from possessing someone was the legendary hero, someone who possessed the Triforce, though because it was Naruto she would have to use her own power to do that task herself and that would take a lot out of her to the point she would spend the whole day sleeping…

A bright orange and yellow light surrounded Naruto, causing the young man to stop his movements and blink slowly as he turned his head to gaze at Hinata’s shadow body; he seemed so tired though the red had faded from his eyes… It seemed that the darkness hadn’t been as powerful as she had feared for she could break it very easily… that was relief… “Naruto?” Hinata said with concern.

“My body hurts…” muttered Naruto, turning his head he saw another Boblin coming up to him causing him to yell out in surprise… Then, something had kicked it in the face where it should have split the creature’s head open though it only disappeared. Blinking in surprise, Naruto looked over and grinned. “Luna!” Rushing to the horse, he hugged her head and pet her happily. Well, now he didn’t have to walk very far, time to head on home!

***

Naruto took a deep breath as he rode into his village. It was nice to be back though too bad that it couldn’t be a return but rather a visit of business. Narrowing his eyes into a serious stare, the young man rode down the path, hoping that he would be able to catch his father though, he also prayed that he would get some answers at long last. All of this wondering was causing him to become confused and very pissed. As for Hinata, she seemed to be resting from the spell that she had to cast upon him to get him back to normal. It had concerned him that had happened though figured it was nothing more than a fluke and nothing more to be honest.

After all, his anger was caused mostly out of frustration and nothing more… so the Fused Shadows shouldn’t be able to get a hold of him again and for that he would be very thankful.

Inhaling deeply, the young man saw the people wandering through the village, just having the times of their lives really. It was nice to see them having so much fun though at the same time they were nervous about something. Were they scared that more Boblins would come back? That could be it since they did take his mother and some of the kids from the village… It seemed so long ago now that he thought about it.

Shaking his head, the blonde hero made his way to his home before getting off his trusted horse and patted her neck gently. “Wait here Luna, I’ll come back and I’ll bring you a nice carrot. I bet you’ll like that.” His answer was a neigh from Luna which made Naruto chuckle softly before making his way inside. “Dad, I’m back…”

Minato rushed out and gasped in shock before hugging his son. “Naruto my son! Have you completed your mission?!” asked the older man with hope in his voice… Though when he pulled back, he saw the look in his son’s expression and his hope had shattered for the time being. “I see… so, what got you to come back? Did you find the kids?”

“I have, they’re in Suna right now helping out to rebuild the village. Though, dad I need your help. I need to get to Death Mountain’s Fire Temple but I can’t throw a Goron away and… I had heard that you had some boots that once belonged to a great Hero… Is that true?” Naruto said with curiosity in his voice.

Minato sighed softly before taking a seat and made a gesture for Naruto to take a seat as well. “Long ago, our ancestor was a powerful man who had the Triforce of Courage like you Naruto. He fought a great evil, no one but the Great Sages know his name at this point in time. He fought the great evil and won with the help of the Twilight Royal family. Though the sages believed that the family could be of better help in the realm that the great evil was sealed away in.”

“But why?” asked Naruto with confusion, he looked over from the corner of his eye and saw that Hinata had appeared next to him, though his father didn’t make any sign of seeing her. Was it only Naruto who could see her? It would make sense anyway…

“They had great and terrible magic, our ancestor thought that it was best as well if they used their power to keep the seal in place since the Great Sages’s magic could only work in the Realm of Light.” Minato said before running a hand through his hair before letting out a sad sigh. “Sadly, what the Great Hero didn’t know was that… the Sages had only wanted to get rid of the family because they feared that their magic could be used to rule the world if they were ever corrupted like the Great Evil.” Minato leaned back in his seat as if he was still carrying a great and heavy burden on his shoulders. Had this story caused his father great stress? It would make sense as to why his father always seemed afraid when he looked at the Triforce mark on the back of Naruto’s hand…

Naruto just stared at his father, trying to think on what more the man would have to say about this whole thing. There had to be something that was going on there just had to be right?! Why else would there be so much fear and despair in the man’s expression.

“There’s more isn’t there…” whispered Naruto.

Nodding, the older man looked up as he said “the hero was in love with the princess that was to rule the land; they had been the best of friends and grew up together… Though, like her family they had been locked away and he was never the same again after that. He placed all of his sacred tools in different temples though kept one, in his own family and raised a family of his own. Though, he never forgot about his love and he died an early age with his thoughts wondering what could have been, or if she hated him because of that choice.”

Naruto turned to stare at Hinata for a moment, wondering what she thought about this. It seemed that she was trying to process all of this herself. ”Naruto, repeat my words for me please…” Hinata whispered, though Naruto nodded and looked at his father as he started to repeat all of Hinata’s words.

“Dad, I’m sure that the princess never hated her.  I know that she wanted to be with him but I’m sure that she grew up and enjoyed her life and hoped that he had lived his life as well. I bet they are happy to be together again in the next life, happy to be together and to be in any and all lives that they could have so long as they are together and happy to always have each other.” Naruto said; though that was normally something he wouldn’t say out loud though it seemed to have brought a smile to his father’s face either way. The older man chuckled as he nodded though then his face went serious, it seemed ‘Konoha’s Leader’ had taken control this time.

“Well Naruto, it’s time to help you get to Death Mountain…” Minato said with a smirk. Now he was talking! It was time to get what he needs and learn to fight so he can get to the Fire Temple!

Minato made his way up from his seat and started to make his way to the back room. Naruto remembered this room from when he was a kid, his father would always go in here for some spare training, or at least when he wanted to train alone and of course, Naruto was always forbidden from coming in here. Tilting his head, Naruto wondered if he was supposed to follow though that was answered quickly when his father said “you coming?”

Jumping from his seat, the young man followed his father as fast as he could, and what he saw made him stare in utter awe. The room looked more like a wrestling ring than an arena for sword fighting though Naruto wasn’t going to complain. “Naruto, Gorons don’t fight like us, they fight in wrestling to test each other’s strength more than skill. If you can best me, I will give you the Iron Boots, the only item you need if you want to have any chance of fighting a Goron. Understand?” Naruto nodded before his father removed his shirt and stretched his arms above his head.

Naruto shrugged and started to remove his hat, gloves and his shirts. At least it would make it easier though he figured that it was to make the fight a little more durable to be honest. Minato bent his knees a bit as he said “to get them off their feet for a moment, you slap them then grab a hold of them before trying to shove them off… Understand?” Naruto nodded a bit, knowing that this was going to be a little hard though this was the only way to get into the temple… and he knew it.

Taking a deep breath, both men removed their boots and jumped into the ring as they got ready for the match. Naruto knew that this was going to be difficult but this was a big chance… the only chance to be honest. His hands were opened though with his fingers curled a bit, as if preparing himself for either a slap/shove or to grab his opponent. This shouldn’t be too bad though he just hoped that it would be enough to learn the Goron’s way of fighting so he can earn their trust. Soon, the bell dinged though that caused Naruto to blink. “Who rang the bell?”

“No idea.” Said Minato before he and Naruto started to walk around the arena. Trying to get a good set of the floor or, to read the opponent’s movements… Naruto knew his father enough to know when the man would strike, since Naruto was well aware of when to defend of to get out of the way for that matter.

Narrowing his eyes a bit, Naruto saw his father walked forward and went to slap him. Naruto of course moved out of the way while his father was distracted and grabbed him then started to shove. Minato of course wasn’t going to have it that way. The older man shoved his son then went to grab a hold of him and managed just that. Naruto yelped in surprise before digging his feet against the floor to get a better leverage. He didn’t want to use his super strength on his father, after all there was a good chance that he would end up hurting the man and that he couldn’t allow to happen.

Naruto managed to slap his father’s shoulder hard enough for the man to let go before shoving him back a few times. He had to get the man to the edge of the arena, maybe then he could get his father out of the ring without causing any kind of serious harm. Growling a bit, Naruto was close enough to the edge now with his father, and that was when he took his chance. It wouldn’t be that difficult since his father was a bit light for his height and muscle mass his father was still surprisingly light.

Taking a hold of his father, and started to shove. Hinata was in the back cheering and… was she holding pom poms? How the hell did she get those and where did they even come from?! Oh well, now wasn’t the time to deal with that but to hurry up and get this battle to be over and done with. Inhaling, Naruto took heavy steps forward, still holding onto his father though to him, it seemed very easy, too easy to be honest. Though maybe that was because Minato hadn’t battled like this in a long time and was more of a swordsman than a wrestler in the first place.

Yet, he had to admit, his father was still good otherwise and that was something that was still worth seeing and dealing with first hand. Narrowing his eyes, the young man managed to shove his father out of the ring, Minato yelped from the shock and of course from landing on his back. At least it wasn’t that high from the ground but at least it was something that they could all laugh about, Minato sure was anyway.

“You alright dad?” asked Naruto.

“Yeah I’m alright… Alright Naruto I got some things for ya.” He chuckled a bit before getting up and slipping his shirt back on and made his way over to a trunk. Unlocking it, he opened the trunk and pulled out some yellow boots. The boots reached just around the knees with a steel plating, blow the knee was some kind of yellow metal steel that reached just above the foot. Straps of steel stretched from the back of the foot on each boot to the front and above the foot. Other than that, the toes and soles of the shoes were made of pure steel. Minato smiled before he handed them to his son saying “here ya go.”

Frowning, Naruto lifted the boots and found them to be amazingly light… “Uh… how are these supposed to help? They’re light dad…”

“Magic son, the boots become heavy when you put them on and when you want them on, just will it and they shall appear. No worries.” Minato said with a grin before digging into his pockets and pulled out one last thing. “Also, you deserved this Naruto; normally warriors don’t get these until they have been a warrior a little longer than you have but well… I believe you have earned it since you have traveled and done more than most people your age who had just become a warrior.”

Naruto blinked a little before looking down and that was when he saw them… a pair of red hoop earrings. They looked just like the blue ones he wore though were red instead. Blinking in shock, he looked at his father before grinning then he accepted them, removed his blue earrings then placed in the red ones. “Thanks dad… I promise, I’ll bring mom home and make sure that everything is the way it should be… I promise…”

Minato pated his son’s back as he said “I know you will son, I just know you will and… I’m proud of you son… so very proud of you.”
here is chapter 14 people, next chapter, to Death Mountain! Also to the Fire Temple, I won't add a few things from the game since I mostly wanna hurry and finish this without it being too rushed but also leaving out the parts from the game that I found pointless... sorry!
