A Miko's Heart Ch: 15

Naruto had never felt so much rage before. The only time he had ever felt this much rage bubbling within his very being was when his village had been destroyed. Now though, he was going to make sure that the source of this rage was dead. Kuro was a demon that the young fox was going to take down. Nothing was going to stop him, and he would make sure that Kuro suffered a fate worse than death. He was going to destroy his very soul and send the bits and pieces to hell.

“Ah, Naruto… you’ve arrived. I didn’t think you would show up. Have you thought about joining me? Wait… how did those humans get through my army?”

“You mean the army of like twenty demons in the front? Yeah we killed them.” Said Sasuke as if it was no big deal. Though, that had confused Naruto a great deal. If this guy was a great demon lord or whatever shouldn’t the guy have like hundreds or maybe even thousands of demons on his side and not twenty? None of this made sense to him though at least there wouldn’t be anyone interfering right now.

Kuro glared, his green eyes glowed gold and the pupils narrowed into slits. Yup he was pissed though Naruto was more so. There was no way that he was going to lose this fight, he would make sure that he got Kuro away from Hinata and the guys would deal with any other demons that just so happened to show up but also get Hinata to safety. Pulling out his sword, Naruto stared at Gaara from the corner of his eye as he whispered “get Hinata. I’ll keep Kuro busy; the snake can’t do anything if he’s in battle…”

Gaara seemed a little reluctant to leave Naruto alone to fight this demon but knew that Naruto had a plan up his sleeve. Or at least he tried to think that he did at the very least. Breathing deeply, the young man turned to Sasuke as he said “and I want you to make sure that no other demon that we may have missed tries to attack.” Sasuke just gave a bored look before shrugging his shoulders and yawned as if he was bored out of his mind to be here. Was Sasuke ever excited about anything at all? Or was it just something that he did around demons such as himself?

There was really no way of knowing what was going on though what he did know was that now was the time to kick some ass and take some names.

“Kuro… why are you so intent on making me join you?”

“You have power yes that is definitely one of them but I also want your great-grandfather to pay.”

That struck a nerve; his great-grandfather was a powerful and respectable demon. What did he have anything to do with this in the first place? Sure from what he could remember of the old fox demon, he had done many things in the past that he hadn’t been proud of but still, he was honourable and wouldn’t hurt anyone without a just cause so there had to be some kind of reason that would make Kuro this pissed at the nine tailed fox demon. “What did he ever do to you? He was dead when I was a child, he died of old age.”

Soon, Kuro started to chuckle only to let it out as a dark laugh. A laugh that sent a chill up Naruto’s spine. Well, a short chill but a chill none the less. “What’s so funny fucker…” growled out Naruto.

“You really think he died of old age?! I had one of my snakes go over to Kurama while he slept with you in his fur and bit him many, many times.”

As soon as those words escaped, the fox demon’s eyes widened in shock, the red bled away leaving shocked and scared blue. No, that can’t be possible… there was no way that poison could have taken down his great-grandfather. He was a powerful demon so… it… it couldn’t be… “No! There would have been a scent trail for the trackers to have discovered. There would have been something for us to smell!”

“Unless the venom was indictable. You’re forgetting, snake demons can master any poison and venom and even make sure that it had no scent or anyway to track it.”

“But why?!”

“Kurama was in love with your great-grandmother… but she was to be mated to my great-great-grandfather… He was to be her mate but your great-grandfather just had to sweep her off her feet and get her to fall in love with her. Now I shall avenge him and kill Kurama’s great-grandson, or to get him to join me. Either way it’s a win.”

This guy killed his great-grandfather because his great-grandmother was to mate another? This guy killed an old demon just because of something that happened all those years ago? Even before he or even his mother had been born?! This guy was stupid, sick, evil, sinister and… and…” Naruto felt his power rising within him, it was even more power than he thought could have been possible for him to even have but now it seemed that it was very much possible… Breathing deeply, Naruto shouted out “you’re so fucking dead Kuro! I’ll save Hinata and avenge my great-grandfather!” As soon as he had said those words, something unimaginable had happened… Normally, a fox cannot grow another tail, for they are normally born with the tails that are meant to show their power as an adult… but it seemed that it was possible after all for Naruto, had sprouted a tenth tail.

“You fucker… I’ll rip you to pieces, then rip out your soul and shred it into nothing so you can’t come back in another life. I will make sure that nothing and I mean nothing will ever bring you back! I’ll kill you and avenge my great-grandfather and save Hinata!” With that said, Naruto rushed forward with a scream.

With that said Naruto rushed forward leaving Gaara and Sasuke to themselves. Gaara never knew that Naruto could be that angry before in his entire life though with what is going on he couldn’t blame the demon. With the news that Kuro had not only kidnapped Naruto but also killed his great-grandfather it would make sense that he would be pissed. Gaara rushed over to Hinata while Naruto fought off Kuro, there was no way of knowing how this battle would turn out though it had also surprised both the red head and the raven haired teens that Naruto had suddenly sprouted a tenth tail.

In all of his years of research on the Crimson Fox and his clan there had never been a fox with ten tails, at least not a normal fox demon anyway. From what he had gathered, the only known fox demon with ten tails, was the god of fox demons. Someone who had died many, many years before even Naruto’s great-grandfather’s time. He was the founder of the fox demons, the father of them if you could call it. How Naruto had gained that third tale made even Gaara confused though there had to be more to it than what meets the eye.

Maybe when they got out of this he would do some more research on the fox god before anything else. Shaking his head, Gaara reached Hinata and started to tug at the rope that held her to the wall. Tilting his head, he saw the weird expression on Hinata’s face as he asked “you alright Hinata?”

The blue haired woman turned her head before blinking her lavender coloured eyes. “We have to help Naruto.” She said with a slight sob.

“Hinata, Naruto will be fine… Didn’t you see him sprout another tail? He has a lot of power now Hinata. There hasn’t been a ten tailed demon fox in just about forever!”

“But Kuro may get Naruto to freeze by telling him why his people were killed!” cried out Hinata.

Okay, that confused the red head. Turning to Sasuke, he saw that Sasuke just shrugged, showing that even he didn’t know what she was talking about. “Don’t look at me like that. The only thing I know about that massacre was that some villagers attacked the fox demon village when their leader Kurama had passed away.” That was a story that all the hunters had heard about, that the great fox demon Kurama, had died in his sleep and that was when the villagers had taken advantage of that thinking that the fox demons would attack them now that their so called ‘peaceful’ leader was dead.

“That was Kuro’s doing. He had told the villagers that Kurama had passed away and convinced them to kill Naruto’s clan!” Hinata had managed to cry out.

Gaara cursed, he thought it had been weird for humans to have heard of a great demon’s death on their own unless someone had gone out of the village just to find out which, in those times humans never went near a village filled with demons. If those demons happened to be dangerous then there was a good chance that the human would have died in the process. Shaking his head, the red haired teen managed to cut the ropes before staring at Hinata. “Look Hinata, me and Sasuke have to get you out of here. We had promised Naruto that and one of us will stay here to help Naruto if needed.”

Hinata seemed to accept that answer for now. Though there was no sure way of knowing that she would stay out of the cave. Turning to Sasuke, Gaara calmly said “I want you to stay with Naruto. He may need help and since you are the better expert on slaying demons than I am, you have a better chance. I can only keep Hinata safe from demon attacks.” Sasuke looked over at Gaara, and saw the serious expression on the pale teens face. It was easy to see that Gaara didn’t like the idea of leaving someone like himself with Naruto though at times like this; there wasn’t much of a choice. If Kuro wasn’t taken care of at this moment, there was a good chance that everyone in the world would be killed.

Nodding, Sasuke pulled out a sword as he said “alright, but just remember… I aint doing this for you or for the stupid fox.”

“I aint stupid you ass!” shouted Naruto.

“But I won’t allow demons to take over the world. That would be a nightmare to live in, and I would want to wake up and just to even know that the world was really overrun by demons would make me want to kill myself.” Sasuke said with a chuckle only to stare at Hinata. “Now, you have to do what Gaara says Hinata. I’ll make sure to bring back your fox alive.” With that said, Sasuke ran off toward Naruto to give him a hand.

Hinata though just wanted to stay in the cave with Naruto a moment longer, though knew that it would be pointless to stay where she would be in danger and distract Naruto more than he needed to be. In fact, it almost seemed like he was already distracted from the knowledge of Kuro killing his grandfather and the fact that he had kidnapped her just so he could get this so called power and have Naruto join him in the end.

It was a nightmare for her, a nightmare she hoped that she could wake up from for if Naruto lost his life, she would never be able to forgive herself for this happening to him. He would have ended up dying for her and for the whole world when there would be no one to even thank him for what he had done for them. Tears had already started to stream down her face at the mere thought of losing the man that she had grown strong feelings of love for…

“Come on Hinata!” Gaara said before grabbing a hold of the blue haired woman’s wrist and started to make a break for it.

As for Sasuke, he held tightly onto his sword as he got himself ready for the battle at hand. He didn’t know that the Crimson Fox could move this fast. It was like looking at two blurs that were just zipping by his line of vision. One blur was blonde, red and black while the other was mostly black with a bit of white. How was it that he couldn’t keep up with them in his line of sight he had no idea though he had an idea that there would be something.

“You’ll die fucker!” shouted Naruto as he from what Sasuke could figure swinging his sword at the snake demon. Though it was really hard to tell until a small strip of flames swung at the black blur. How could they be this fast? Had Naruto’s speed increased when he grew that tenth tail? Better yet, how could he have gained that much power in the first place?! It just didn’t make any kind of sense to the hunter.

Soon though, the blurs ended with the black one slamming into the red, blonde and black one and slammed him into the wall. Sasuke saw that Kuro had Naruto by the neck and had a crazed smile on his face. “I’ll enjoy killing you since you refuse to join me!” It seemed that Kuro was focused on trying to get the Crimson Fox to join him though failed in doing so since Naruto had gained more power somehow… wait… Naruto had gained more power did that mean that… did ‘giving’ her heart mean something else entirely? Or was it really removing her heart from her chest to give to the demon?

Naruto just growled at the snake before saying “are you forgetting the elements that I control?” With that said, he lifted his hand and grabbed Kuro’s wrist, the wind slicing at his flesh causing the snake to scream out in pain and move away from Naruto and growled at him with his growl sounding like that of a monster you would hear in the movies. Sasuke had to admit, even Kuro should have remembered that Naruto could control wind and fire to forget something like that was just a stupid move in his books.

Shaking his head, Sasuke rushed over to Naruto and saw that the fox demon was breathing heavily; Kuro must have had a very tight grip on the fox’s throat for him to be breathing that heavily. “You alright?” asked Sasuke, not showing any kind of concern for the demon in question.

“Yes I am now why the fuck are you here and not with Hinata?!” growled out Naruto, his eyes burning a deep crimson once more. Must have turned colours when he started to fight with Kuro, there was no way of really knowing in the first place. “You’re supposed to be protecting her!”

“Gaara has that covered. He thought that you would need my help in case. Kuro is a tricky demon after all. My family hasn’t been able to hunt him down, why else do you think he’s still alive…” mumbled Sasuke with a slight pissy tone to his voice.

Naruto muttered a string of curses that Sasuke could not figure out, nor did he care enough to try. Looking over, he saw that Kuro was starting to get himself back up once the wind attack had started to die down. Naruto must have been distracted or he needed a lot of focus or will power to keep the attack going. Turning back to the fox demon at his side, Sasuke calmly said “catch your breath alright? You’re not used to that new tail of yours I bet so just get your baring’s and I’ll handle the rest alright?”

Naruto nodded his head as he tried to catch his breath. Whatever that new power was doing must be taking its toll on him though he wasn’t sure why it was. Must be, at least if his theory was right, his new found power was still trying to adjust within the fox demon. There was something off about his powers though he couldn’t be sure what it was, he was still trying to get over the fact that Naruto had grown a tenth tail for that was something that didn’t really happen even with demons. They don’t just grow a new tail even if it was to show how much power they were meant to have. The only time a tail should grow is if it was severed and it grew to replace the tail.

Suddenly though, Sasuke felt something grab his arm, causing the young hunter to turn and stare at Naruto. Naruto didn’t show any emotion on his face, so it had Sasuke a little confused as to what the fox was trying to do… at least until he felt Naruto throw him into the wall, ten feet across from where he had been standing. “Ah! You son of a bitch!” shouted Sasuke only to blink in shock when he saw a bomb explode where Naruto stood, right where Sasuke had once been standing. “He… he tried to save me…” whispered Sasuke in shock, not sure what to feel to be honest. A demon had just saved his life, and wanted nothing in return… Unless you counted Naruto wanting Hinata safe but that was it…

“The Crimson Fox should have just given up saving you; it would have done nothing to you. That bomb was nothing more than a sacred ash bomb. That bomb will destroy the Crimson Fox once and for all!” shouted Kuro as he threw his arms up and laughed that insane laugh of his. It was amazing that he had lived as long as he has or else he would have been killed off by the hunters or other demons because they thought he was too crazy to even be alive.

“Don’t count me out just yet Kuro.” Said a voice.

“Impossible!” shouted Kuro as he turned around and walking out of the smoke of the Sacred Ash Bomb was Naruto. His eyes glowing red though there was something else strange about him right now… it was the tip of his tails and ears! They had turned white with a small strip of lavender snaking its way to from the tip and wrapped itself around the white of his tail until it met orange. “She gave you her heart didn’t she!” growled out Kuro before shaking his head. “No, she is still alive!”

“I didn’t have to remove her heart to get this power Kuro… I earned her heart, because I love her, and she loves me…” said Naruto with a smirk before he rushed forward to attack Kuro.
